Anyone know of a good place to get some? Whole Foods was out, and food emporium didn't have anything. I'm looking for something authentic and as healthy as possible (I know, I know. . .). Any suggestions?

Bangkok Supermarket, I do believe. I was there yesterday, and I'm here to tell pastaguy that they have the Thai curry pastes for you.

There's a Thai restaurant at the Chelsea market that sells tubs of curry paste imported from Thailand. You can also buy it at the Indian market on First Avenue just south of 6th Street (I can't remember what the market is called - double something?)

I usually buy the Maesri brand at the Chelsea Market store. I've also found that Food Emporiums randomly carry it.

          Dual Specialty? It's at 91 1st Ave.

That's the name - Dual Specialty - thanks, it was driving me crazy. I have a tub of Mae Ploy brand curry paste in my fridge that I bought there for $3.85.

if you're anywhere near East midtown, Kalustyan's should have it.

Kalustyan's carries the Maesri brand from Thailand. It has no artificial coloring, no preservatives, and no MSG.
