Any decent soup dumplings on the UES?

Will be on the ues today. I don't have time to travel to CT, wondering if there are any decent soup dumplings to be found on the UES? thanks!

    There's a Shanghainese restaurant on the northern end of Midtown East that might fit the bill.

        I was just there yesterday and had one dumpling. The skin is quite thick but the meat itself is ok and the juices plentiful.

          The dumplings were fine. I didn't think they were too thick, but I did think there could have been more broth. Our craving was satisfied. The other dishes were fine too. We went for lunch. I had the tangerine beef, and my kids had the roast pork lo mein. I still can't get over the tangerine beef I had at Shanghai Cafe last month, that was the best ever. So crispy, it was just like extra crunchy kfc, without the bad greasy taste to go with it. Thanks for recommending Shangai Pavillion it was a good substitute. Also the service was very friendly. The maitre 'd/ waiter/ mgr also recommended a dish for me he saw how I devoured the hot chili oil, and thought I would enjoy, pepper chicken (?), which uses 3 types of peppers, and is very spicy. Next time I'll give it a try.

              The sauce is pretty typical. If you like it spicy make sure you ask, otherwise it was mild. It's the crispiness of the beef that was the best part. I hope it's always like that and I just didn't catch them on their oil cleaning day.
