  1. Cuisine style ? how much money ? willing to "travel" a little bit or limited to downtown core (for example )?

Dinner : Lemeac (Laurier st.) , "M Sur Masson" (Masson St.)
Lunch : I'm not a lunch in a restaurant person, others will have to answer that, but I'm certain that there are good suggestion downtown like Decca77, Brasserie Brunoise, ...
    Breakfast : Café Art-Java (ave.mont-royal)

For Asian Markets, not much in "Chinatown"; for bigger selection you have to go to the south-shore, (the name is on the tip of my keyboard, someone else will have to fill you in).

For Asian markets on the island, try Kim Phat on Jarry near St-Michel or Marché Hawaii on Marcel-Laurin near Poirier in Ville-St-Laurent.

I agree that a lot more info is needed before people can give you educated recs on the meals.

I second Lemeac. They also offer a great menu after 10:00 p.m. for $22 Canadian for a starter and a main.

any cuisine, will be staying downtown but have a car. No fine dining. Thanks!

for lunch Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot - 50 de la Gauchetiere - 514-393-0888
it is lovely and that broth is just what the body needs in this climate :)

Just don't plan an outing to the theatre or something afterwards. Your hair and clothing will stink of broth.

lol :) big time but there are worse fates :) I was there yesterday and boy did it hit the spot - stink and all :)
                happy eating, Oana

        2. Not necessarily a good time for Asian markets if you just want to look as it's the week before Chinese New Year (feel like being trampled?).

New Kim Phat corner of Autoroute 10 and Taschereau; it'll be busy.
