Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Sunday brunch near Cort Theater

We're hoping to do brunch before a show on an upcoming Sunday. We rarely go to brunch in Manhattan...Where do you suggest we try? We need to be finished by 1:30 so that means either a place that takes reservations, moves quickly or starts brunch on the early side. Any suggestions?

    1. Marseille, on the corner of 9th Av. & 44th St., serves a very good brunch in an attractive, bustling brasserie setting.

West Bank Cafe, on 42nd St., b/t 9th & 10th Avs., also has a good brunch. Pleasant decor and low-key ambiance.

Both take reservations, and both have efficient service that will get you out in time to make your matinee curtain.

Enjoy the show and Bon Appetit!

Ditto. Most places in the neighborhood are used to people who have to make a show, so when you reserve or sit down, they'll ask you when your curtain time is. If they don't, just be sure to mention it to your host or server.
