Toro recomendations

We have a gift certificate. Not a fan of tripe or bone marrow, not sure I am ready for brains or tongue on my tongue, will never eat sea urchin again, but I do have an adventurous palate otherwise.

So with those limitations, what are the must ordered things to order that keep this place hopping?

Two meat dishes that stand out for me are the Costilla de Buey (Rioja braised short rib of beef with armagnac soaked prunes and Vidalia puree) and the Pato con Membrillo (Smoked duck drumettes with rhubarb). There are just two drumettes but the costilla is served in a small cast iron pot and is great to spread on bread or just pass around for a bite. Recommended by a regular when we sat at the bar.

And of course you need to get the corn.....sprinked with manchego cheese..That's their signature dish....

The corn is absolutely amazing, i also love the garlic griddled shrimp, the tuna crudo, the brussel sprouts and their paella is actually really delicious as well.

I love that corn, too, but I think the cheese is cotija. I also usually get the pimientos de padron, escalivada, and lengua.

Some of their simplest dishes are among my faves. Love the tortilla and the tomato bread, which is always somehow really good regardless of the season. Also a huge fan of the dates (or is it figs?) stuffed with marcona almonds and blue cheese, wrapped in serrano ham. Sweet, salty and tangy all in one bite! For dessert I've enjoyed the churros -- there's something about the chile-chocolate combo in the sauce that's so alluring.
