Dining in Dallas
I am coming to Dallas for a month for work. My husband will be visiting me for a few days and we have been trying to pick some places we need to try. Last time I came for work and he visited, we really enjoyed Babe's and Hibiscus. I am trying to find a place that will appeal to both of us. I enjoy exciting food and he is more of a meat and potatoes guy. I was thinking about Lola's or Del Frisco's because I will be staying in Addison, but I am completly open to suggestions. Also, we will probably go to the Ft. Worth Zoo and are there any places there that I should not miss? I apperciate your suggestions!

New to the site, but not to food! For Dallas, make sure you hit up Perry's Steakhouse. The steak is great, but that's not the main attraction. If you like fried softshell crabs, then you have to check out the tempura fried lobster tail w/ a white gravy like bearnaise sauce(like hollandaise). The thing is the size of a catcher's mit and you could easily have it as a meal b/w the two of you w/ a few sides. It was $50 last time I went, but definitly worth awesome goodness!

For FW, here are a couple of my suggestions to someone else:
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/584550Also in FW is Angelos BBQ which is fairly close to the zoo. But I'd skip the sausage - pretty bland. Also, they are closed on Sunday.

You can do a CH-TX search on any of these resto's for add'l info. Enjoy!

Yeah, I did follow a lot of your suggestions when I was down in Dallas the first time and I appreciated all of them. We just have so many good choices that I almost wanted someone to make our decisions for us. We have decided to try out Lola's and The Love Shack, but I just wanted to thank you again for all of the great direction!

re: danamarie
When you make your reservations ask for Christine (perhaps)....or ask for the waitress. We went last month and had a wonderful meal and she was gracious without being intruding and very knowledgeable on her wine pairings. Don't miss the charcuterie plate that is house cured by the chef. Also the tasting room is just as expensive as the regular course menu....I would suggest either but I really enjoyed the tasting room a lot.
