According to Bostonist.

"Daniel Lanigan, owner of Amherst beer haven the Moan and Dove, announced yesterday that he has bought the B-Side Lounge in Cambridge and will be reopening it soon."

    Has anyone heard any developments?

I'm pretty sure they're in there tearing things up right now. I know they're aiming to open as soon as they can, but with hearings and city of Cambridge stuff, looks like late April / early May.

... I'm confused. I heard about the Moan and Dove buy in August. Now I thought the rumblings were maybe this wasn't going to happen after all?

Lanigan's post on BA indicates that he bought the place at auction, however that might work.

It's true: it was on, then it was off, now it's on again. Hopefully will go through this time.

Any info on what Patrick Sullivan is up to?

I hope this is true. I noticed that the owner used the term "psyched" when mentioning that he was the highest bidder. Are we sure this was written by him?

Not sure I understand your question. Shouldn't he be psyched that he bought it? Would it be better if he was not excited?

It just seems so....informal(?). Especially having it posted in a forum like that. I guess I haven't seen or heard the word "psyched" used all that often by businesspeople, but maybe I don't get out enough. :-b I also wasn't sure if it was really him, but it does seem to be after looking through that site. My bad--ignore my last post (and this one, for that matter!).

HB, sounds like Lanigan is a beer guy so... ;)

....and that, as is the name of his other Northampton bar, The Dirty Truth!

I believe he sold his share in the dirty truth in order to buy in boston. I also believe he has some kind of interest in the other side now as well - or is at least managing it.

                          Thanks for the update LStaff!
I'm sure we're all looking forward to the re-launching of the B-Side, in whatever guise, given Daniel Lanigan's bio.

Unless his BeerAdvocate login has been hacked, that is he. No surprise he's a longtime commenter there.
