Cushing Sq. Belmont Chinese Restaurant?

JoJo5 Jan 15, 2009 01:02 PM

I seem to remember that a Watertown Chinese restaurant was supposed to move to Cushing Square, replacing another defunct restaurant. Has that happened and if so, any reviews?

Alas, no. Yet another convenience store now occupies that location.

Beats another bank, but not by a lot.

Gotta say, I live near by and am psyched to have a convenience store. Course a good Chinese restaurant would be better ;-)

Its funny, I live near leonard street and the store 24 that I used to use closed and became a real estate office. Now I have to traipse over to trapelo to find a convenience store. I find that on the rare occasions I can talk my family into chinese food (Yes, they may be un-american, but they don't much like chinese food) that I prefer the longer trip to shangri-la. I did try Pho and Thai and was not impressed. Have always been scared of the takeout place in cushing square next to starbucks.

That'd be "Your's" - yes, w/an apostrophe . . . . We also live near Cushing, and we go to Shangri-La. There really isn't anywhere else to go, IMO!

I, too, live nearby (a couple of blocks from the Belmont Cinema). There are so many convenience stores along Trapelo Road around here, I wonder how they all stay in business!

And I do miss Ling Garden from before its long, slow decline. The Vietnamese/Thai place that replaced it just does not fill that niche in my dining life.
