I'm trying to plan a 90th birthday dinner for about 20 people in Miami or Miami Beach. Was hoping somone could provide some recommendations on places that #1 have great paella, #2 can accomodate a large group, and #3 be a comfortable environment for people of all ages.

Don't need anyting incredibly fancy, but a nice place is required (no hole in the wall places).

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

We have used Tropic Paella to cater several of our events and they've done a magnificent job for us. And most of our events are attended by latins from South America and the caribbean and they've been very pleased as well. Their number is 305 559 5147.

Do they just do catering, or is it a restaurant as well?

I've seen large group parties having paella at Casa Juancho on SW 8th Street. I haven't been there for several years, so maybe others can review the paella ( at the time I remember it was pretty good ) but it's old school and there's corny Spanish musicians roaming around. Could be festive for a birthday.
