Should we go to Bin 26 Enoteca or Troquet?

Hubby and I would love to try a Wine Bar/Restaurant in Boston.

Thinking of either Bin 26 Enoteca or Troquet.

Which has better food, better wine and a better atmosphere?

Which do you prefer and why?

Are they both similar in price?

while both are wine-centric, bin 26 is a wine bar and troquet is a restaurant. the food at bin 26 is all very simple, with a maximum of 4 ingredients in a dish so the the focus is really on what you're drinking. i love the place, but focus on the small plates, cheeses and salumi. the vibe is casual, the servers wear jeans, ya know?

troquet is more for a night out. while there remain bargains on the wine list, entrees coast towards the high $30s and i think it would be tough to dine there for less than a $100 per person. they have one of the best cheese courses in town and the BEST butter. however the decor of the room leaves me cold.

both have very intelligent and interesting wine lists and very good food. just depends on what kind of night you want to have.

i also like Troquet for either an Early Evening or Late sampling of great cheeses with small pours of Excellent wines.

Both are nice, though I would recommend Troquet as having an edge up in th areas of food and wine. They do a god tasing menu w/ pairings as well. I however, like the interior design of Bin 26 better.
