Cooking Class / Birthday Dinner near Boca?
Hi, looking for some help from the Boca Raton area hounds. Last year a dear friend had a fun party in New York in a space run by an Italian chef,- a loft/cooking school set-up. The guests had wine and apps and then under her instruction prepared the dinner and dessert. In between a wine expert did a tasting and discussed the wines served. It was a nice and active way to have a dinner together, ( although we all had big heads the next day! ) .
Now someone who attended the party wants to do a similar event down here in Broward. Does anyone know of a space, restaurant or private chef who runs such a thing? Not sure how big they want to get get, but any leads would be appreciated. ( I'm in Miami and can only think of Johnson and Wales....)
Try googling Chef Jean Pierre's Cooking School in Fort Lauderdale, they have a website. They do kind of the same thing and there are a ton of different "classes" that you can do as a private party.
Also, Publix, believe it or not, has something similar at different locations. I know there is one in Boca, but I'm not sure of the other locations. If you go to the Publix website, it is under "Apron's" or something like that. I saw that Michelle Bernstein was scheduled to do a class (in Boca, and already sold out) so I don't think it is rinky dink.
Aprons is the name of the Publix school in Boca -- it's a nice set up, and you can tailor the class.
Read about it on my blog here:
There's a new cooking school in Jupiter -- it may be too far for you -- called Cook's Inc. - it's also mentioned on the blog above. It's in Abacoa.
Chef Andy Trousdale of Le Bistro in Lighthouse Point on Federal Highway also gives classes -- for a group such as yours, it's recommended. (954) 946-9240. Andy's a great guy.
