ESK tonight - food recs?

We're heading down to Eastern Standard Kitchen tonight for the first time. I've already heard about their great bartending and am looking forward to a well-made Negroni. Any particular favorite dishes there?

I've done a board search and found a ton of recommendations for the place in general, but not much in the way of specifics about the food.

To report back: We shared the marrow bones and seared fois gras to start, followed by the salmon for my wife (I tasted it and was impressed, I'm not usually a salmon fan but this was nicely crisp outside with a meltingly soft interior), while I had the cavatelli with mushrooms, broccoli rabe and chicken confit, which was good but not great - the pasta itself was a bit too chewy, the chicken confit a little on the dry side (maybe I was comparing it unfairly with duck confit), and overall a bit too salty, though otherwise nicely spiced with a generous amount of red pepper. For dessert we shared the butterscotch bread pudding, which was seriously good, served with hazelnut ice cream.

One thing I really liked about this place was that the portions were sized so as to allow us to order and enjoy all three courses without feeling overstuffed - bravo!

Next time I'll try the burger for sure. Or the hangar steak. I'm usually a red meat guy but I thought that after the two ultra-rich appetizers I'd go for something lighter as a main course.

Oysters! Hubby swears by the charcuterie as well.

the frisee salad, the pig confit and the mimolette croquettes. your heart will not thank you, but you will be delighted during your cardiac arrest. can't go wrong with the charcouterie too.

The marrow rocks, as well as the steak tartare. The steak tartare is served with a small ramekin of fries as well. As for entrees, I've had quite a few and have rarely been disappointed.

I liked the hangar steak frites (especially the frites!) and for dessert, the butterscotch bread pudding.

I like the chicken confit salad, and if you are in the mood for a burger, it is just delicious.

Good to know, thanks. But I had a burger last night and this is a birthday dinner, so I'll probably look for something a little more celebratory.
