Semi-Casual Bar/Lounge In Silverlake/Los Feliz for Entertaining Out of Town Visitors
Just wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a nice place (but not too fancy/trendy) to entertain friends visiting from out of town. Would like a place in the Silverlake/Los Feliz area. Something in the ilk of The Griffin (but we've been there already). Looking for something a little more upper scale than Red Lion or Cha Cha Lounge but not too self-consciously trendy either (not in the mood for Malo). What do people think of Edendale Grill? The Dresden Room?
Any ideas would be most welcomed.

There's a brand new bar that opened up next to Cuba Libre on Vermont. I don't know what it's called but it looks very inviting. Looked a bit dark from the outside but it might be worth checking out. If you don't like it, you can always just walk over next door to Cuba Libre or across the street to the bar at The Vermont.

And yet another nod for Edendale for drinks and not for food. The bar at Tantra is also very nice, and if you get there on the early side isn't very trendy. (If it's still trendy at all.)

Also, Little Dom's just got their full liquor license. It's more of a restaurant than a bar....but they have a bar area, good drinks and very nice service.
And I agree with Cliff's Edge. Although I'm not much of a fan of their food, it's just a lovely space...especially with the weather so warm right now. -
Edendale Grill is good for drinks, not so much for food. Should be nice on a warmish night like tonight as much of the seating is outside.
The Dresden Room gets a young, touristy crowd -- it wouldn't be my choice.
What about Cliff's Edge? Out of towners would like it, I think.›1 Reply-
re: Chowpatty
i think you might be right about the Dresden... and Edendale might be more what we are looking for... however... just to clarify... this isn't so much for dinner... just drinks/cocktails and chat. maybe an appetizer offering or 2, but dinner... we will have that earlier.
thanks for the input.
