I was inspired by the post on the Weekly's Voracious blog today. I loved this dish when I had it in Korea, but haven't located it since, though I've never really searched the menus at many Korean places. Is it on normal Korean menus or would I have to find a Korean/Chinese place? Any recommendations (hopefully not involving a drive to Federal Way)?

would check out Nora Bistro Chinese in Shoreline (same strip mall as Hae-Nam and a taco bus). They have a whole page of Korean-Chinese cuisine, including jajangmyeon. Not the best version I've had, but definitely better than those at University Teriyaki on the Ave.

Yen Ching in Mountlake Terrace is a solid bet for jjajangmyeon and other Korean/Chinese fare. Their samsung champong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is divine, especially in the thick of winter!
