Vegetarian in Copenhagen and Amsterdam. Help!
Hello, I am vegetarian who loves good food. I am about to go to Copenhagen and Amsterdam and was wondering if anyone had tips on good vegetarian places to eat. They need not be all vegetarian as I know the quality can be not so good at times, but places that have decent vegetarian options. Also, by the by, what are the must try food of each place?
I see I'm a bit late on this subject, so I hope you haven't left for Europe yet. My vegetarian tip for Copenhagen would be RizRaz on the Kompagniestraede (which is a parallel street to Stroget, the main pedestrian street, so it's very close without being a tourist trap. Inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, with an inexpensive lunch buffet.) For regional specialities, I'd suggest visiting a sandwich shop and picking out three sandwiches for lunch together with a cold Tuborg, but Danish open sandwiches are not that easy to eat without a plate, knife and fork (it's not a proper smorrebrod if you can see the bread!), so it's not really your typical take-out food), and second, the vegetarian options always seemed to pale in comparison to the meat and fish classics.
Unfortunately, my main experience of Amsterdam was a four-hour stroll through the inner city on a packed sandwich lunch, then the train to Utrecht, so I'm not sure I can help you there. But the mature Gouda is enough to make every imitation break down and weep in shame.

Can only give some tips about Copenhagen - the best include noma**, Geranium*, MR*, Sellered Kro*, The Paul*, Paustian* and formel B*. Most of them also offer also vegetarian menu option. Must try is clearly noma, Geranium, MR if you are into modern food with Danish background.
Amsterdam - must eat is Ciel Bleu**, not sure about vegetarian places, though...

Does NOMA really offer vegetarian food. There's nothing on their menu.

we had many many vegetarian dishes on my latest visit of noma (see my blog for details). Surely a pure vegetarian menu can be arranged. Geranium has one which is truly memorable.
