Our favorite is Club Sushi at Fujiyama's. It's in the back, behind the (ordinary) tepannyaki restaurant. The place is pretty plain, been there for years, and is more popular with locals than tourists, but they serve really serious big maki and sashimi. I especially love the fresh water eel there.

I agree with Tom about Club Sushi. The service and decore is nothing special but it is my favorite place for sushi and the eel is some of the best I have ever had. I tend to find Blu overpriced and more about the scene than the sushi. I would have never tried Club Sushi on my own but a Chef from La Playa swore it was some of the best he has had so we gave it a chance. I am glad we did. Blu has a good deal going on right now during lunch. Its an all you can eat for about $10.

I echo Val's sentiments. Blu is head and shoulders above the rest for sushi in SW Florida. Highly recommend allowing the chefs to select some items to serve you. My wife and I have eaten at one of the 3 Blu's in the area more than 50 times and have never ordered from the menu.

re: gcwolverine
Thanks for the recs. Blu it is.
GC, one thing I love about going to a sushi restaurant is letting the chefs serve whatever they feel like making. I have no problem going in and telling them that I want to spend $X and serve me whatever they see fit.
I'll be there on 1/31 and will post a review when I get back from vacation.
Thanks again.

My favorite is Blu Sushi downtown, 1170 Third Street South. Sushi Thai is also very good with multiple locations, one downtown on Fifth Ave South, two others in North Naples...Blu Sushi has a "hipper" atmosphere; we go there for special occasions.

re: Val
Blu Sushi is by far the best. The original one is close to my home in Fort Myers and has great sushi as well and a lively bar scene.
