The food: I ordered the butternut squash lasagna and it was bland and mushy (I felt like I had been served baby food) and the side salad had no dressing. The service: although the place wasn't even half-full, no one noticed we were there - after waiting a very long time, my friend had to get up and ask the waitress to please come take our orders. The decor: yes, they re-upholstered the booths, but they took down all the paintings and posters meaning the place has lost much of its charm. Don't bother. But the the 3rd time, this past Sunday, the owner/manager told us it would be slow... it took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. Fri Nov 06 11:57:17 -0800 2009 4320354 208412 foodismyhobby 2 5165258 ended up going to lakeview for a bite to eat on friday night, because the lineups at utopia (we were in that neighbourhood first) and pizza libretto were too long. from most of the reviews on here i thought i would basically be eating poop. but, i had "the turbo" (fried egg, chili garlic mayo, cheese, sauteed mushrooms, added sauteed spinach, on an english muffin) and it was very tasty. great diner food for the price in the area. my boyfriend had a burger, which he did admit was a touch dry, when i said the reviews on here said the burgers were horribly dry. but, he thought it was pretty good still. the sweet potato fries were yummy too - crispy on the outside and soft/fluffy potato on the inside. i'd go again if i needed a quick affordable meal in that neighbourhood.
