Dissapointed by GranGusto Pizza, but Pasta was good.

Went to Gran Gusto last night after reading all the rave reviews about the pizza.

I ordered the Margherita pizza and the Homemade Pasta with shrimp.

First of all when the Pizza came out it looked like it was overcooked. Some of the crust and cheese looked dark/black.

When I looked carefully it didn't look like there was much red sauce on the pizza, or perhaps it dried out?

Then when I took a bite of the pizza it was not crispy like I expected, but a little soggy.

I could tell the the cheese and ingredients of the pizza were top quality, but it was not the Pizza I was expecting from all the rave reviews.

Is is possible this was a reheated version which explains the soggyness of the bottom of the pizza, the partially burnt top, and the lack of sauce?

The Pasta was top notch and the Tiramisu was one of the best I've had.

They also had a couple of different Truffle pizzas. Has anyone tried those and which one is good?

I will go again soon to see if my experience was a fluke..

  1. Did it look like this? I ordered it well done and didn't find it at all soggy. I ranked it as 1 of the best of this style pizza I've had.

That does look pretty dark for the crust.

Similiar but there was some blackened cheese as well. Is that pepperoni or just blackened cheese?

Did you feel there was enough sauce?

Maybe I should order it well done next time.

Any experiences with the Truffle pizz?. The couple next to me ordered it, and it smelled SO GOOD.
