Is $3.99 a good price for a Cuisinart 8" Stainless skillet?

Amazon has a 8" Cuisinart 8" stainless steel skillet for $3.99 and I was wondering if anyone else had one of these, and if $3.99 is a good deal. It sounds like it, but any amount of money spent on a crap pan is a waste.

Aince this would be well below the production
cost, I'd be very suspicious. It sounds like
a product someone is desperate to unload.
It's like a new Toyota Camry on sale
for $5,000.

Well, I ordered some.

It's Amazon.com so I couldn't imagine how they'd be any worse quality than if I went straight to Cuisinart's factory and bought them.

I have some Cuisinart cookware and I have no complaints. No, they are no all clad and there is just a disk attached to the bottom but they are my everyday pans and still have not failed. They conduct heat very well and even though the instructions say not to use them on high heat I have to no dire consequence.

Cooks Illustrated tested the larger 12" version of it and it failed their abuse test. The disk bottom came off and the whole thing crumpled up. Buy hey...you can buy buy about 34 of them for the price of one All-Clad frypan so it it's all relative ;-).

Looks like a good enough deal for $4... but there's $7 shipping added to that. I'm not sure why it's rated only to 550 degrees being a aluminum clad pan, but most people don't toss their pans in 550 degree ovens anyway. Worth a try I suppose but I don't have one to give you any sort of a detailed review.

Thanks, there are a few other pans on there that are on sale, and I plan on grabbing a few if they're good, so if I order more than $25 it's free shipping.

They're sold through a separate vendor so the $25 = free shipping doesn't necessarily apply.
