Can anyone recommend a bar or lounge to get a pre-dinner cocktail in koreatown?

It's our anniversary, and we are going to have dinner at Hangawi but it would be great to find a good place to linger over a drink before dinner, and Hangawi doesn't have a bar. Can anyone recommend a bar near Koreatown, if not in K-town, that has a pleasant atmosphere?

we're in our mid-thirties and are not korean so aren't really in search of the most popular hangout or karaoke.

thanks in advance!

  1. The Ginger Man might work. I have only been to there for after-work drinks, but they have a nice lounge-y atmosphere, and serve up good cocktails.

I think there is a bar (maybe Morgans Bar??) in the Morgans Hotel.

Both of those are a couple of street blocks north of K-town.

The only one that I can think of in K-town is Red Bar & Lounge, which I haven't been to, but you might want to look into.

Enjoy Hangawi! I have been dying to go.

    1. I agree with the Ginger Man if you like beer, they have a huge selection. Also nearby is Katwalk which is more of a trendy lounge. You can also get a drink at the bar at Keens, a steakhouse that has great bourbon and whiskey drinks.

Yeah, I'll second Katwalk. If you're looking for "loungey" it will suit you.

I will politely disagree. Katwalk and 'trendy' don't belong in the same sentence.

          1. 3rd Floor is nice (if you can find the entrance). Red Bar also has really great HH specials - $6 premium vodka martini's from 5-8pm on the weekends.
