Crab cake recommendation

lifespan Jan 10, 2009 10:31 AM

We searched this site and read every word posted concerning crab cakes. We were surprised to find that no one mentioned a restaurant that we recommend strongly and wonder if others know of it. The restaurant is somewhat off the beaten path, north of Baltimore in Hampstead, MD. It's Greenmount Station. We think it's hard to find a really fine crab cake. We've tried them in Baltimore, southern PA, DE, DC. The best crab cake we've eaten was at Greenmount Station. It's in a little strip mall and not easy to find. A family member found it on a business trip. We always order the crab cake dinner or crab cake sandwich and have never been disappointed, even in the winter months. The crab cakes are made only of lump crab meat. There is little or no filling. The cakes are well-seasoned and broiled to perfection. Worth a trip from Baltimore.

Thanks for the tip - there's nothing like a good crabcake! Can you provide an address? From the information, I am not sure where to drive to happen upon this "little strip mall" that's "not easy to find."

Hey Bonz - We think it's on Route 30, but we're not sure. We looked up the address and telephone online: 1631 N Main St, Hampstead, MD, Tel: (410) 239-0063. Let us know how it goes.
