What's the hype about Cafe la Haye in Sonoma?
My girlfriend and I went to Cafe la Haye last week for dinner and were very disappointed about just about every aspect of our experience. The place was packed but there was only one server working, so service was atrocious. We each ordered a glass of wine from the list, and were shocked to receive the smallest glasses of wine in terms of volume we had ever seen. My girlfriend works in a tasting room and said it was just over what they pour for a taste!
The bread was actually chilled instead of warmed or even room temp, and our entrees (she had the chicken with creamy sage sauce and I had the lamb tagliatelle) were lacking seasoning, color, garnish, and overall, LOVE. We spent $100 on our meal and vowed never to return!
That sounds unfortuante. Hope it was an off night. Most of what I've read about it has been good.

The original chef - John McDaniel I think - left a while back and I am not sure who is there now. It was once really truly wonderful but I have not been there for a couple of years. So disappointing to read your post.
