Hell's Chicken?

aser Jan 10, 2009 01:20 AM

Every time I drive by on Yonge, this place cracks me up. It's in the epicenter of new Korean town. From what I can tell they serve the double fried chicken that can also be found at places like Ajuker. The icing on the cake is the sign out front, it's an exact logo rip of "Hell's Kitchen" the tv show. I love these logo rips, reminds me of the total disregard for copyright in mainland China.

Best I can find is this, the pics unfortunately doesn't show the logo (found on the missing 3 white panels listed in the pic.)

Anybody been so far?

Don't bother. We were driving by tonight after dropping our daughter off in Thornhill, and went in. It's your standard wings-and-crap sports bar. No double-fried chicken on the menu; nothing Korean about it at all -- just wings, fingers and cutlets with standard wing sauces available. The fries and onion rings looked frozen. We did not stay.

Agreed. My girlfriend and I were also fooled by the name. We walked in, saw only beer and wings on the menu, and left. The wait staff were also not the nicest (before we left).

Drove by that place on Saturday night, and it cracked me up. Would never think of stepping foot in there though! Had some Persian from across the street.. fantastic kebob and nane barbari (sp?) right out of the oven. Didn't catch the name of the place, though.. not even sure it had an English sign; it was packed, even though the sign said it was closed.
