Is Cyrus worth it?

Hi fellow chowhounds!

I will be going to Sonoma/Napa area this month and I'm researching on some restaurants to go to... since Ubuntu will be closed the last two weeks of January and it's too late to get a reservation at the French Laundry, those two restaurants are out. I read alot of great things about Cyrus but was really wondering if the quality justifies the price??? Don't get me wrong... i will pay for good food, but many times, I have been disappointed.

I will also appreciate any other suggestions for lunch and dinner in the wine county.

Thanks in advance!!!

    1. Was treated to Cyrus for my birthday, end of July 2008. Price is high, but you pay for what you get. Excellent food with quality service. However, there are some restaurants in the city that are comparable or better. However, if you are in the area and want good food, and do not want to splurge on French Laundry, I would recommend it. I was impressed when the kitchen accommodated my request for not having seafood, since I am allergic to it. Honestly, I enjoyed the numerous "amuse-bouche" more than the main entries. We also did the wine pairing with the menu. Great selection of wines.
For cheaper lunch or dinner, but excellent food which worth every penny that you will be spending, I highly recommend Rutherford Grill, in Rutherford, right on the main highway. Have never been disappointed, with my every visit to the Wine Country.
