When I say gooey, you say...

With all of the "term-based" posts, this topic came up at home. When you read the term gooey, what foods come to mind?

Wow. If anything, this thread has made me realize I'm not a fan of gooey foods - especially not the sweet ones. (The cheesy ones, I can deal with on occasion.)

      Hot fudge.
Mac 'n cheese (when it's made right).

Melted stringy cheesy goodness. Mmmm.....lasagna, pizza, mac and cheese, fondue

Right there with you on the hot fudge...I like mine with either hot caramel (or butterscotch) or peanut butter sauce. All gooey goodies! This thread is making me hungry!

              Exactly my first thought.

              Then come sticky cinnamon bun.

              Then come Turkish ice cream.

              And then molasses.

              S'mores
              Caramel, def.
              Pudding
              Chocolate fondue

I think of caramel, and warm cinnamon buns.

                  Yummy, warm brie.

Sadly, thanks to her PR, I think of the disgusting gooey cakes.

Then I think of gooey ducks.

And then of the wonderful gooey centers of hot homemade cinnamon rolls.

Paula Deen's. I can hear her grating voice as I type.

I dunno, I made two gooey butter cakes for Christmas (pumpkin and my own lemon/cranberry concoction), and for me, they fell into the "trashy food I'm ashamed to admit I had two servings of and another piece for breakfast" category.

Ahem.... melted mozzarella. But then I also think: stretchy, stringy, yummy.

Yep! Here in Houston it's often called Gooey Butter Cake. I think it has about a million calories in each piece.

When I say gooey, you say...duck!
                          geo! duck!
                          geo! duck!
I think that's the correct pronunciation of the giant clam.

Hmm, since I'm a programmer, I also think GUI.

For food purposes: caramel brownies, good chocolate chip cookies. Pecan pie. Macaroni and cheese (the real stuff,) Stuffed pizza, the magic that is a reuben sammich.

Yup, that's how it's pronounced. By the way, if you ever want to serve a dish that makes people laugh out loud, try linguine con vongole made with geoducks!

                            Caramel.
                            Marshmallow fluff.
