I am not sure if they are still doing it but in the past few yrs. Timothy Dean Bistro on Eastern Ave. had very tasty chicken and waffles on Tuesday evenings. i would call to make sure though.

Miss Shirley's on Cold Spring and now on Pratt has their version, recently written about in Citypaper
"...benne seed chicken 'n' waffles ($12.99) bridges the divide between breakfast and lunch (available after 11:30 a.m.), and though Miss Shirley's version is modified somewhat from its soul food origins, substituting boneless chicken breast pieces for wings and adding cheddar and green onion to the waffles, the result is still a savory comfort-food pleasure."

I was going to say Miss Shirley's as well. I've had them and they are quite good, though not exactly what I remember from North Carolina. However, a couple of friends I've met in Baltimore can't get enough of them. They lowly and melodically chant "chicken 'n waffles, chicken 'n waffles, chicken 'n waffle" whenever we drive to Miss Shirley's.

Granny's in Owings Mills. Amazing chicken wings and the serving size was HUGE! Something like 4 giant wings and 6 waffles. Try the grits too.

Such an amazing concept! I didn't discover it until last year in LA.

I have never seen a C & W house anywhere on this coast. So I can't wait to see what you hear back!

Not in Charm City, but Granny's in Owings Mills is a very nice restaurant serving excellent chicken and waffles all day. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Too funny, I always thought it was a southern thing! I didn't discover it until "late night" at UMD. The general quality of dining hall food aside, UMD made some seriously kick azz waffles. And on Tuesday/Thursday nights they paired it with chicken. People couldn't get enough of it.
