Charlie's in Folcroft is my favorite. Good Dog if you're in that area.

Thanks for all your responces. It sounds like Good Dog and Five Guys are a popular choice. Ive been to Standard Tap but never had their burger, thier fried oysters were great though. I would like to check out Royal,I hear that it has good food.

Good Dog, Standard Tap, N. 3rd, Royal Tavern, Monks.....pretty much every decent pub in CC has a good version. The Good Dog Burger at Good Dog is amazing. Order it medium rare, or else the blue cheese gets too runny and explodes out the other side when you take a bite. As for upscale, the sliders at Barclay Prime are well worth the expense.

Philly is a great burger town.

I am not a big burger eater, but I do enjoy the occassional one. In addition to Good Dog, I would suggest Sketch on Girard Ave. Good burgers and interesting toppings!

I second Sketch Burger. Just be aware that they don't have fries. They have "natural" cheese puff things that come in a package (sort of a gross, fake-healthy version of Cheetos--and they don't even appear to be made with real cheese. Blech!).

The best (and one of the most expensive) in the city is at Rouge. For a more inexpensive pub burger, I recommend Good Dog, Royal Tavern, and the Down Home Diner in Reading Terminal.

For a great old school burger (aka what McDonalds used to be) I highly recommend Zac's and Charlie's, both in Delco.

I have to disagree about the Rouge burger, it's OK but the Good Dog burger (best in the city), Pub and Kitchen burger, or even a good Five Guys burger are much better and much less expensive.

Good Dog has a very good burger. Five Guys is pretty decent as well.
