Star fruit in Bucktown?

Where can I find star fruit in the Bucktown area? A friend brought some over recently and my kids have taken a great liking to it, therefore making this something I need to take advantage of.

I suspect some Argyle Street groceries carry it, but I would prefer a local spot if there is one.

  1. LOL ... star fruit in Bucktown ... now that's funny. Yep, Arglyle street. Take the ride. Pick up some gauva and durian while you're up there too.

    1. Jewel. Starfruit ain't all that exotic.

With the obvious caveat that starfruit is seasonal and the season may be ending. I was buying them at Jewel and Dominick's when my kids were in kindergarten (they're in their early 20's now) and they had to bring a "fruit break" snack every day. We tried to mix it up as much as possible from the traditional apple/orange/banana.

I guess I should pay more attention when I go shopping with my wife :-)
