Tejuino @ Taqueria La Mordida, San Jose

From the parking lot at Lion Plaza on Tully Road, I spotted a yellow banner promoting "Tejuinos" across the street.

Of course, I had to check it out. Watching the counter lady add crushed ice, the juice of two limes squeezed to order, and then shake it up vigorously, I had high hopes. But I didn't like this one at all. Even after letting most of the ice melt, it was till thick and starchy tasting, almost like paste.

However, this taqueria looks good. Signs promote handmade tortillas on the weekends. I'm wondering what else might be worth ordering here.

    1. Whoa! My bad. Her old handle was a name in my head that was a guy's name, although the spelling was unclear. Silly sexist assumptions! Apologies all around. :)
