Anyone know of good greek food in reasonable proximity to Roslindale? I'm dying for a good Gyros!

If you've got a car, the Farm Grill in Newton really is not that far from Roslindale. Well worth the drive.

Try Kouzina in Dedham Center. It's a family run shop. Not only is the food very good but the owners are really nice. FYI, they are going on vacation at the end of June for a couple of weeks.

Its more Lebanese - so shwarma's, falafel, so not the same, but still tasty rotisserie-cooked meat - but Saab's on Rt 1 in Norwood is good.. is in the same plaza is OSJL.

Once you are heading into Norwood, I would suggest going to a little place at the Norwood airport. i forget the name - but it is actually in the parking lot of the airport. Not far from the Rotary on Rte. 1. A hidden gem. I kid you not.

I second the opinion on that little market. I love the wild cucumber pickles (I think that's what they are called) in the sandwiches.

Passed by Skara Grill on Centre Street in West Roxbury. I haven;t tried it but they will likely have gyros and souvlaki.

Souvlaki -- get thee to the Blue Star Restaurant right in R. Square. They serve it with the french fries inside, which I love.

Don't bother with Skara. Very mediocre Greek cuisine.

Food was very bland. Wasn't hot enough when served. Saganaki didn't appear "flamed" at all, but fried. Side dishes were very poor quality and cold.

Another bad Greek place for Boston.

I have given this place a second and third chance. They have improved very little since opening.

Service is not great. Slow, inattentive, not so friendly.

The waitstaff blast each cleared table with Windex after the patron leaves, creating a very unpleasant experience for surrounding patrons who are enveloped in a cloud of fumes. BAD!

The food is serviceable, but not great. Stick with simple menu items (gyro, souvlaki).

The TV sets detract greatly from giving this place a feel of a quality restaurant. It is a glorified diner. Good, but not great.
