London: Malsouqa, Brick/Brik Pastry, Feuille de Brique
I'm looking for some pastry from the Maghreb region (North Africa, comprising of: Morocco, Algeria & Tunisia).
It's the pastry that is used to make the Moroccan pastille (pigeon pie) and the Tunisian Brik (with the egg), and I'm not sure what in Algeria.
It's a cross between phyllo (filo) and a crepe...so it's got a very particular texture.
I can't find anywhere online that sells it (other than amazon.com) and rather than head from one side of London to another in the weekend, I thought I'd ask first here.
Does anyone out there know SPECIFICALLY where I can purchase it from?
Does anyone out there have any SUGGESTED potential places that might sell it?
Many thanks for all your help. I'm travelling by bike, in the weekends, so can get most places...but would prefer to keep it in Zones 1-3! :)
Cheers
Eury

Don't know for definite but the Moroccan shops in London are in the Westbourne Grove area I think.

In Claudia Rodens book Arabesque she recomends buying "feuilles de brick" (the ever-so-thin pancakes called warka used to make bstilla) from Moroccan stores in London, especially n the Golborne Road W10. She the debates the merits of using this versus normal filo which she seems to prefer.
