  1. Thanks Beach Chick!!

        1. If you sign up on the Rubio's mailing list, you got that notice on Friday (before the game) that they would be ding the free fish taco on Wednesday if the Chargers won.

This is because (if you are on the mailing list) there was a $1 off anything coupon good on Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon (and Tuesday is $1.29 Fish Taco Tuesday) so they did not want to be overwhelmed.

Also, if you are on the mailing list, you get a coupon for $7 (good for a complete meal or bunches to share) for about 2 weeks around your birthday.

I sign up for all the online mailing lists. Amazing deals...

          1. Anybody know if the USCD-Price Center Rubio's will honor the coupon? My guess is that they won't, but you never know. I'll probably stop by anyway (as I want to try out the now open Yogurt World), but if I can save myself the embarrassment I will. :)

Old Man - funny stuff, but you actually may be correct. Time is money, and if one waits in a long line to get a free taco, is it really free?

I called for you and they said that they are honoring the coupon at all Rubio's locations..even at the UCSD-Price Center..

I went. Oddly enough, it was one of the best fish tacos I've gotten from Rubio's. The few times I've visited there recently, the tacos were very wimpy, but the one I got today had ample amounts of fish and cabbage. I was pretty impressed; I might have to work Rubio's into my lunch rotation a little more frequently.

went today around 3pm and it was one of the best fish tacos at Rubio's that I had too..no line and cooked to order..
Keep on winning Chargers so Ralph Rubio keeps the love of the free fish taco going!

            2. It says something about someone that complains about free food, but I guess I would expect it from Grumpy Smurf lol.

Just got back from Rubios and had no hassle, no line. It is early though.

I liked Rubio's when before they went public. Each of their spots had a unique feel to them. As an example--the Encinitas location had cement tables with embedded tile, a large fish tank, a "beach" of sand, and pampas grass umbrellas. All that was removed and replaced with hard, McDonald style, seating and bright lighting.

I also think the food suffered and the portions got smaller. On a personal note they made a deal with Coca Cola and got rid of Pepsi--big bummer for me.

I agree, the cost-cutting resulted in a smaller portions, higher prices, and homogenization of the stores.

When I was there yesterday there were small signs mentioning that they had to raise the prices again. I got a carnitas taco too, almost $3 with one chunk of meat and a bunch of sweet onions. Won't be getting that again.

I swear the only things good at Rubios are the fish tacos, refried beans and quesedillas.

And only on Fish Taco Tuesday.

they put too much black pepper in the refritos
