tea or luncheon for 70th birthday?
my mom's turning 70 - i was planning to do a tea at home but my dad would like to be involved, which means he wants to do it in a restaurant instead, preferably in the sherman oaks/studio city area... any recommendations? he's suggested bizou or marmalade, any thoughts there? i'm actually thinking of cliff's edge, but that's in my neck of the woods, not theirs...
thanks in advance.

I've mentioned this place fairly often on this board.....and it wouldn't be a tea...but I think the space and the food at Ca del Sole is really very nice. It's a little further east than Studio City, but not much. They have a lovely patio, nice Tuscan style rooms inside with a fireplace or two. I've been there for a couple of celebratory events, and found them to be very accomodating.

re: perk
Bistro Gardens is a beautiful, classy luncheon spot (gorgeous room, very Parisian looking) with yummy bread and butter, I love their poached salmon and don't forget to order a chocolate or grand marnier souffle
