Sheperdstown and/or Harpers Ferry WV?

Will be near Sheperdstown and Harpers Ferry next week. Looking for one nice meal out. Food most important. Price range $15-$30 for entrees. Nice atmosphere a plus.

Try The Press Room. It's on main street in Sheherdstown. My friends and I had a great meal there last spring. Great food and atmosphere.

I haven't been in a couple of years, but the German restaurant, Rathskeller, in the basement of the Bavarian Inn used to be quite good. I was there for my birthday a few years back, casual, fun, reasonably priced decent German food.

Thumbs up for both Stone Soup Bistro and Bavarian Inn. Stayed at the Inn and ate at SSB this past summer. SSB food very tasty, pretty space, reasonable prices. Stayed at Inn so only had breakfast, but that was v good also. Glanced at wine (and beer) list, which looked good also.

A tangent, but the owners of the Bavarian Inn bought and restored the grand ol' Mimslyn Hotel in Lurary, VA last year. I'm told the restaurants and bar/pub that they've opened there are excellent.

I second the Bavarian Inn. If you like game, they have a winter menu that is awesome that has all sorts of game. Yummy!

If you don't mind driving a bit (10 miles), there's a bunch of cute places just north in Boonsboro, MD. I've heard that Old South Mountain Inn is a "hidden gem" kinda place, rightin that price range, and there's another nicer Italian place across the street from Vesta pizza on its Main Street, but the name is lost on me and I can't find a listing.

My favorite is the Stone Soup Bistro in Shepherdstown. It's a wonderful, charming place with creative food. Others will point you to Three Olives or the Yellow Brick Bank, but I go on a road trip once a year just for Stone Soup Bistro.

Avoid Yellow Brick Bank. Once the best in town, it's now way past its prime. I ate at a really good place on the same side of the street, on the next block heading west, but I can't remember its name. It has 2 rooms, one the restaurant and the other the bar.
