Capital Seafood, again

Can't stay away from this place for two reasons - great food and good parking to see Devil Chow and his Missus are OK in the car while we eat. Last night ate terrific three spice Duck soup - dark rich broth with sprouts, mushrooms, duck meat - the whole thing was kind of a deep cognac color with lurking depths of delicious taste - followed by huge platter of house shrimp - was prepared like their salt and pepper pork but this was shrimp and jumbo string beans which had a glaze almost sugared. All this service is very fast, very friendly and a bill not much more than $20.

    1. I love this place too! Again! Never really ate during dinner hours, because the lunch specials are freakin' awesome! You've gotta to try the house special fish fillet sometime...it's the BEST!

And around the corner, you've got to try Sea Harbour for dim sum, as I did last Sunday...it's reaches unreached levels of greatness for dim sum that leaves Ocean Star, et al. in the dust, in my opinion...I'm still dreaming of the stuff I had there, and anxious to try the stuff I hadn't tried. Never knew Vancouverites had it so good!

Such good selections in this complex! Want to try the new Chinese vegetarian restaurant "grand opening" next door to Capital - but now we have to try Sea Harbour as per your rec first!

We've been to Sea Harbor for dinner. There is a branch in Rosemead (or is it San Gabriel?), right? It's probably one of the more expensive dim sum places.

There is one in Rosemead that I haven't been to. Same food though, as I understand it. Looking at the tab from my last visit, it seems pretty reasonable dim sum...not cheap, but certainly not extravagant (except if you order the foie gras dumpling...which I will hold off on until I'm good and ready) The tab for 6 dishes + dessert + tax an tip for last Sunday was about $32 for three people. We're not big eaters, but left full.
