In 2001, then state senator Barack Obama appeared on the Chicago version of "Check Please" as a citizen reviewer. He chose the south side soul food resto Dixie Kitchen. For someone so slender he talked a lot about the johnny cakes and peach cobbler. Yes he looks a little older today, but that charisma just pours out of him. The report says that the Chicago station is going to play this episode four times between now and the inaug. Can't remember the call letters of the station but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
