What have you made lately?

the real new orleans restaurant

went here a few weeks ago. got the seafood gumbo and the red beans. wish they had a chicken and sausage gumbo since that is my preference. but their seafood gumbo was good. had a nice roux and a good flavor. the best i've had in this area. the red beans were also the best ive had around these parts. i love it when the sausage is split before grilling. it seems to bring out another flavor to the sausage. almost reminded me of the river shack on river road in metairie.

if you have the time get out there and give them a try.

here's a couple pics too

FYI---according to the website this place is in Round Top, Texas, not Austin. So better plan on a road trip if you go check it out.

It is actually in Round Mountain, TX, up near Marble Falls, not toward Round Top.

Sorry about that, Round Mountain, but still needs to be a planned outing on those country roads. Might be a fun trip to combine with some vineyard visits.

It's a fun road trip, pretty area to drive though. I'm glad more people are going!!! They're pretty great.
