late night romance

I'm looking for something open till around midnight-1am, price point flexible. I heard about Caren's in another thread and I really like the idea, but I'm not sure if its the best date place. Any recommendations?

I don't know if you're into hotel bars, but I think the Four Seasons or the Park Hyatt Roof bar are kinda romantic spots for a late night rendezvous.

I also think Caren's would be a great date place.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I guess I should've tried to be more clear...What I was basically looking for was a place open past 10pm, conducive to conversation and of course, solid food/

Now just deciding between Harbord and Caren's... I have to leave for a work assignment for a few weeks or else I would have just done both :(

7 west might be your place....Interesting scene, with dim lights and open 24 hours.

Not sure if it's exactly what you have in mind, but 7 West is open 24 hours. Food's good but not great. It's casual, but in a dim/candlelit/romantic kind of way.

Black Hoof on Dundas West and Harbord Room on, uh, Harbord. Kitchens open till 2 am most nights. Small and cozy, a bit scene-ish.

could just be me but the name "black hoof" just does not exude romance :-) even though I hear the place is great..

forget about the name, I highly recommend it as a late night rendevous.

Although both harboard room and black hoof tend to be chef hangouts during these hours. Depends if you're into that or not.....
