Greetings,

I am turning 28 this saturday & i'm looking for a somewhat fun (but not too loud & crazy) restaurant for a birthday dinner for two. Our budget is $100-125...I was thinking Apiary (never been...is it good?), or maybe Euzkadi or Esperanto type place. New American, latin, bistro, pan asian, all sound good. We're starting our night with cocktails at Flatiron Lounge, so something below 23rd St is ideal.

thanks in advance!

Just went to Bar Carerra this Friday. Delicious Spainish tapas. Split 8 tapas plates, two carafes of sangria and the bill came to $48, including tax and tip. They have a location in the East Village and in Greenwich Village. At the West Village location they are likely to seat you at the bar. I hate sitting at the bar, but it wasn't bad at all.

Thanks, Bar Carerra looks great! I never realized that it was the place next to bar veloce. I'm having my birthday dinner w/ my mom, and bar carerra seems like a better date spot, so i decided to try out Apiary. We'll see. Thanks for the tip.
