Trying to find an 18"portable dishwasher in Pittsburgh

I know its not quite cooking but when you have a teeny tiny kitchen with no dishwasher cooking is tough. My search for a 18" apartment sized dishwasher has been fruitless.
I tried craigslist, but the few small portables that come up for sale are snapped up so fast that I can't even figure out how people are finding them out so soon after posting.
Ebay and online don't seem to be good options b/c the shipping is outrageous.
I"ve tried Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Walmart, Kmart, Dormont Appliance, JCPenney, Boscovs, Costco, Sams Club, Lowes, Home Depot, and nearly every other store that sells dishwashers.
The closest I came to getting one was at Sears, where they have Kenmore brand ones that are the right size. Unfortunately it seems as if they won't ever get them back in stock and no one really cares to find out for me.

If anyone out there knows where I can find a new or used 18" portable dishwasher please tell me. I can't afford to spend much more than 400 for a new one, perhaps 200 max for a used one and brand matters. I've read a lot of negative reviews about the Haier model so I'd only risk it for a VERY good deal.
IF you know of a portable going unused somewhere and someone willing to sell me one or a store that actually *gasp* has them in stock I'd love to hear about it. Its so much easier to cook when one can stick most of their dishes in the dishwasher and have clean dishes.

THANKS!!!!!

Thanks for the help. I finally got my hands on one. Its so great to have the extra counter space as well as a way to wash dishes after dinner parties without standing at the sink!

Again not local, but just to get an idea of what is on the market that could potentially work for you, one place to check this site http://www.compactappliance.com/ I am fascinated by the small things they have, not just 18" portable dishwashers but even smaller than that.

It looks like active brands for an 18" portable might be Danby and Frigidaire, and maybe Haier, and maybe Kenmore (which would be made by one of the others). On the ABT site the GE, Maytag and Whirlpools all appear to be 24" portables. If you have the room for one, that will give you a few more choices.

Quick check shows Bodnar Appliance sells Danby locally (at least according to Danby). Frigidaire should be readily available many places but that model would need to be special ordered looks like. (Daniels might be good for that.) Your big box stores carry 24" portables and 18" built ins it seems, and although GE and Whirlpool make 18" units they may or may not make portables. If there is a kit to change them into portables, though, the indie appliance shops would be better suited to help you I would think.

Funny, in this case the old fashioned yellow pages might actually be of good use if you haven't done that already. Oh, I used a place on the north side called Best Appliance recently for service. I can't remember if they sell appliances, though, or just service them. Good service, the only one out of half a dozen I called that would come downtown to service a fridge in our office.

I bought most of our appliances online at ABT Electronics, and shipping was not outrageous. I would recommend you at least check their site, especially for something specialized like an 18" dishwasher, something that brick and mortar stores rarely keep in stock due to low demand. I just checked their site and they have 6 or so models starting at $470 plus shipping, and they say shipping is $100 or less.
