Dan's Diner Stephentown

I am asking for trouble here, I have been scolded in the past for recommending diners based on architecture rather than food, and the diner I am recomending is not physically in New England, but here goes. Dans diner in Stephentown is one of the most beautifull diners in existance. It is not a fifties stainless steel diner, it was built in the twenties and the interior is oak , marble and tile. It is in Stephentown NY,but I am posting on the New England board because I think that there are more chow hounds nearby to Dan's on the Ma side of the border. That being said the food is pretty darn good, but be advised they are shutting down for the winter. I will do another post with their web link.

Thanks Harp00n! Am through a large part of Stephentown --which is a geographically extensive area-- daily, and have never seen or heard of Dan's Diner. For those out of the area: Spencertown is not near Stephentown.

The old Jeep rarely makes the turn on to Rte. 22 these days unless it's to head back to VT via Rte. 346. from the Man of Kent!

Nothing too exciting up Stephentown way, and certainly not in the culinary arena!

Stephentown? Are you sure? There is no traditional diner I know of in Stephentown (which is the "only Stephentown on earth", and therefore in NY.
