Help - need last minute advice. Going to FQ tomorrow!

We will be in the FQ tomorrow (Sunday) for just one day and need lunch advice. We will eating at Stella for dinner but wanted a Po-Boy for lunch, probably oyster or roast beef. We will be staying at the Inn on Bourbon (corner of Bourbon & Toulouse St) so somewhere close would be good. We were thinking Napoleon House or Acme. Which one or do you suggest another? We like a lively atmosphere with good drinks and food. Thanks for your quick response.

  1. My husband and I like Napoleon House. The atmosphere is great. We always get the muffaletta and the meatball poboy. Don't forget to write your name in the corner by the phone!

    1. We were just in New Orleans and while the lines at Acme were perpetually blocks long, we were able to partake of Napoleon House. While it has character, I wouldn't exactly consider it lively. It has more of an antique feel, and the food was adequate, but not inspiring. Our favorite casual meal in the French Quarter was Coop's by a landslide. We both had fried chicken, which was the best we've ever had, but I saw other people's po'boys passing by and they looked delicious as well.

On a recommendation (and thereafter seing the line at Acme), we went acros the street to Felix's. Great soft shell crap po boy, oysters (Rockefeller and Beinville), hurricanes. Place had real life and energy without being crazy busy. One of the highlights of the trip for sure.
