Somers Tavern/Granite Springs Inn?

Just saw an ad for a new restaurant called Somers Tavern. It seems like the location is the old Granite Springs Inn, but there are no photos on the website. Does anyone know and is it the same owners?

  1. Different owners. I heard it is the old Michael's in Somers crowd. Menu was in the coupon mailer this week - seems like they have decent options. Haven't tried it out yet though.

    1. We tried the Somers Tavern for the first time last week and liked it better than the previous Granite Springs Inn. The menu has a good selection and is very reasonable. The staff was enthusiastic and the service was very good. The restaurant was nearly full on the visit early Friday night and did fill up by the time we left. They changed the dining area quite a bit. Many of the booths now have televisions. I also noticed that they have a Sunday breakfast.

Wow, booths. That has changed. We haven't gone since it was Granite and the first owner.

      2. Went last month with my girlfriend, good food at a good price, I got the burger, tasty and cooked perfectly, my girlfriend got the french dip, also cooked perfect, we got the nachos as an appetizer which was a huge portion. The t.v.s add a nice touch as I was able to watch the game and get out of listening to my girl the whole time. Worth a shot.

Went with friends the other night & was pretty unimpressed. Even with the new emphasis on pub-type food at, supposedly lower prices, I thought it was way overpriced. I had the baked brie app as an entree and it was kind of weird, came with toast and the brie was really oily. DH had the french dip & it was ok.

I ordered a grilled cheese for my son & when it came out, it looked like they had slapped a slice of kraft cheese on a piece of bread and put it in the toaster and then tried to mash the 2 halves together. Not to mention part of the bread was burned. He may be 2, but he's got some good taste. (DS basically refused to touch it & I didn't blame him.)

We will not be going back.

After a good start, the place has been on a steady decline (less and less crowded). After dining there regularly, our last visit will be THE LAST visit. My wife commented on the extremely small dinner serving and the manager simply commented "that is how it is". I have never seen such disregard for customer service.
