byob in Madison, WI?
We just tried a great byob place in Chicago with no corkage fee and were wondering if we have this same option close to home. Does anyone know?

Sleeper,
Haven't run across this option in Madison, but I know who to ask. I'll do that shortly and be right back with an answer.

I believe Lombardino's (excellent innovative reasonably priced italian) has a nominal corkage fee.

Irony that you should reference Lombardino's.
The manager there was the one I asked.
BYOB in Wisconsin is verboten, per my contact.

i'm guessing the old brewers' lobby had a hand in that law.

I'm from California and this is only the third time I've been to Madison, but I can assure you that corkage is alive and legal! I just called the Tornado Room to make sure I wasn't hallucinating the last few times I was there with a bottle! Sardine does it too, IIRC.
However, there are fees.
