Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kashmir, and Sri Lanka

two special places in bangalore

the first is called dewars, just off the railway cantonment bridge. built in the 1920's to serve british soldiers, its a bar (which happily flouts the no-smoking rule) with a genius serving up snacks: the brain masala and fried fish are supreme.

the next is savoury in fraser town. kannadigas returning from the middle east set up this wonderful spot; i ate some of the best hummus, chicken with garlic sauce (no it wasn't toom, more yogurt+garlic) i've ever eaten.

    1. Just found this posting, researching brain dishes. Never had brain masala, Howler. Is it in slices, ala MRI?
