  1. Prior to reading this article yesterday afternoon, I met a friend at Campania's (Southlake) for lunch. Having eaten here 5 or 6 times (always pizza), I have to agree with this article's assessment. Have I eaten at all (thousands) pizza establishments in the metro. Of course not. But the pizza here is simple, consistent and tastes wonderful. Very close second if not equal would be Cavalli's in Irving (635 and Belt LIne), which is also certified by the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association.

Best deal: lunch, pizza and either a basica or Caesar salad. $9.00. Unfortunately, I believe it's offered only Monday - Friday.

    1. Thanks for posting this list sounds so much better than D mag. I get so tired of how pretentious those people at D Mag are.

        1. On one hand, I'm glad to see Bolsa included as it is one of our favorite restaurants. But I still want to be able to get a table!

          1. Bolsa is the perfect neighborhood restaurant for the OC. The menu always changes, so you can be a regular without getting bored.

            1. I really do like Bolsa. For some reason, it reminds me of Seattle. I wish the list had included more restaurants outside of the Dallas metroplex (I only counted two). Also, it would have been nice to include some cheap eats. Most of the restaurants are definitely on the expensive side. I don't believe you always have to spend a lot of money to get a fantastic meal. IMO, the writer has a pretty distinct palate which I would hardly describe as adventurous.

Actually at the bottom of the article it states that Bill Addison, his team and other regular reviewers came up with the list. Having known Bill Addison personally I think the list is very representative of his views and of his staff. You are correct there are definitely needs to be a cheap and ethnic list also. But I think the list to be much better than the D Magazine list as it encompasses a few off the beaten path restaurants, ie. Oak Cliff and Fort Worth. The list was definitely not Uptown centric!
