Anyone know a place in Korea Town that makes good Duk Gook? I'm jonesing for some, it being New Year's and all. Any and all tips will be much appreciated.

Happy 2009, everyone!

you're looking for the soup with the beef and seaweed and egg? it's pretty good at Kang Suh; I used to get it at Dae-Dong as well.

I don't like many of the dishes there, but the mandoo duk gook at kum gang san is one of the good ones.

Record time! Thanks for the tip. I agree about KGS in general, but I'll give their duk mandoo gook a try.

        Cheers.

Tried the duk mandoo gook at KGS and was disappointed. The broth was virtually flavorless; the beef was like unto a piece of leather, and the mandu wasn't much better. Man, there's gotta be a better bowl of duk gook somewhere in K-Town. Anyone got any ideas? I'm getting desperate!

Hmm, sorry it was so bad for you. The last time I had it there, it had a rich beef broth flavor and the mandu and duk were tasty.

Not your fault. The restaurant is to blame, obviously. But I think I'm going to have to learn to make my own Duk Gook!
