The "disappearing replies" problem is back
I don't mean moderation -- I mean that when I reply, as I did in the Cafe Marco cappuccino post (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/584182), if I refresh I don't see my reply (though I do see that there was one reply). It tends to "appear" after 5-10 minutes. It isn't limited to that post (not at all), it's browser-agnostic (happens in FF 3 and IE 6) and is not board-specific (I noticed it earlier on the Not About Food board, with the discussion about the bar ID policies).
Finally, it is not a browser cache issue as I have refreshed the cache in both FF and IE and the problem persisted.
Please acknowledge and repair... and Happy Newt Ear to you all.

it's been going on for at least a couple of days now...i've seen delays lasting upwards of 30 minutes in the last 24 hours.

It seems better today... maybe it's just me, though.

It's just you... LOL
I've been wiating 1/2 hour to read a particular reply to a post that shows it's been posted but still isn't in the thread....Yawn.

The post-lag problem is STILL happening ... AGAIN. This seems to be an ongoing problem for CH. I'm still waiting to read a posted reply listed at 15 minutes ago.

Wow, this is worse than I've ever seen it.
I entered a reply. I then refreshed my screen so I didn't need to look at the double spacing to proof read the reply. It was gone. it shows up in my 'My Chow' list, but not on the SF board. When I click on the version in 'MY Chow' my reply is still not there.

The interesting thing is that this delay makes it possible for a thread to be on two boards at once, just saw an example of one that had been moved but could still be seen on the original message board page and the new board.

Not only that, but I've been replying to threads only to find out 1/2 hour later that others have said the same thing before me - but their replies were not visible to me when I posted. (Does that make any sense at all?)

Yup. The lag is really bad today -- not quite as bad as it was last year, when it was consistently running 20 minutes behind, but still occasionally upwards of 15 minutes.
