Indian Food in Jerusalem?
There is a Kosher meat / vegetarian Indian restaurant in the Crowne Plaza Hotel just behind the Jerusalem conference center (Binyanei Ha'Ummah) Here is the info and website in English:
Crowne Plaza Hotel
Givat Ram 91130
My wife and I have eaten there a while back, and their food was pretty good as far as we can remember. They also have an all you can eat Buffet and a Thali meal (which is an Indian meal with contents varying from one regional cuisine to another)
There is also another small hole-in-the wall Indian restaurant in the Shuk (Mahane Yehudah) I believe it is a kosher vegetarian one. I remember reading a review about it but I cant remember it's name.
There are also a few located just outside Jerusalem, Almora and in Modi'in, Sangam.
Its called "Ichikidana", (I remember the name has something to do with an Indian movie or something) People who have written reviews (in Hebrew) say its a must for Thali lovers.
Location: Ha'Eshkol #4, Mahane Yehuda.
Contact info: 050-2247070
Hours: open Sun.-Thurs. 8:00-20:00
Fri. 8:00 until one hour before Shabbat
If it matters, I believe it is Kosher.
Here is an article on it in the Jerusalem post:
