Anyone know where I can buy this in San Francisco?? Thanks!
I googled it and it appears that Lucca Deli in the Marina sells it.
Here's a thread from a few months ago that lists many sources for 00 flour.http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/534650
Rainbow grocery sells it in bulk.
Yes, Rainbow is the best place to get it. Ask an employee if you have trouble finding it; there are many kinds of flour.
Lucca Deli on Chestnut (at Steiner). I bought some 00 flour today @ $1.99 a pound. Made pasta tonight and could not believe how much better 00 is over all purpose.
Do you hand knead the dough? I use 1/2 all purpose and 1/2 00 and it's harder to knead than all all purpose; I've been reluctant to try all 00.
I hand knead it after a 2-3 min run through my Robot Coupe. I always use 00 for my pasta, but not for pizza.
Mastrellis in the Ferry Building has it
